Hot Time, Summer in the Cove

There is a high tide of history contained in these 2 images.

We are seated down on the rocks along what is now the Atlantic Path in Pigeon Cove. The top image shows an array of bathers in proper attire; to their back is the iron posted rope walkway into the Atlantic. (The rusted holes from the iron posts are still visible today.) To the far back is the Bath House with bathing suits hung out to dry to its right. To the left is the outhouse!summerbathing

The image here at the bottom has us seated just beyond the Bath House, with a far distant view of the Ocean View House and Pigeon Cove House. We are graced by the presence of long coated gentlemen with fishing poles for shoreline casts!
